Woman dies in Jan, 22 crash on Old Bridge Rd. and Oakwood Drive; 7-year-old unhurt

INCIDENTS
Fatal Crash Investigation –
On Monday, January 22, 2024 at 8:24AM, crash investigators responded to the area of Old Bridge Rd and Oakwood Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2013 Nissan Juke was traveling east on Old Bridge Rd just after the intersection with Oakwood Dr when the driver lost control of the vehicle which left the roadway and rolled onto the roof.

Good Samaritans removed the driver from the vehicle and provided aid until fire & rescue personnel arrived on scene. The driver was transported to an area hospital where she later died from injuries sustained in the collision on January 24. The driver was seat belted at the time of the collision and speed or impairment do not appear to be factors in the collision at this time.
A 7-year-old boy was also properly restrained inside the vehicle and uninjured. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Crash investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police.

The deceased driver of the 2013 Nissan Juke was identified as Demetria Yvette LEE, 39, of Woodbridge

• Armed Robbery | Attempted Malicious Wounding – On January 24, 2024 at 8:26PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 16600 block of Sutton Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 36-year-old man, was in the above area when he was reportedly robbed of his backpack by two unknown men. During the encounter, the suspects shot towards the victim. No injuries or property damage were reported. The victim was not cooperative and refused to meet with officers to obtain additional information. The incident was reported to the police by an acquaintance. This incident does not appear to be random. No suspect descriptions were provided.

• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On January 24, 2024 at 4:40PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 2900 block of Frankfurt Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed a group of approximately five males, possibly juveniles, were seen firing towards another group in front of a residence in the above area. The parties dispersed on foot prior to police arriving on scene. Several shell casings were located in the area. A police K-9 searched the area for any suspects who were not located. Two homes were struck. No injuries or other property damage were reported. This incident does not appear to be random. No suspect descriptions were provided.

ARRESTS
• Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] –
On January 24 at 5:57PM, Prince William County Police officers were in custody of the accused at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located at 2300 Opitz Blvd. in Woodbridge (22191) for an evaluation. While in custody, the accused became combative and shoved an officer. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jessica Evalena Vanessa DURHAM, was charged.
