Malicious Wounding *ARREST – On December 27, 2023, the suspect, identified as Joshua Nicholas TYLER, who was sought in connection with an assault that was reported to have occurred in the 9800 block of Liberia Ave. in Manassas (20110) on Dec. 12, 2023 was arrested.

Malicious Wounding [Previously Released] – On December 12, 2023 at 11:47PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 9800 block of Liberia Ave. in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 31-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were driving on Prince William Pkwy. when a verbal altercation escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim several times before the victim was able to park in the above area and contact the police. The accused left on foot prior to police arriving on scene. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Joshua Nicholas TYLER. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

INCIDENTS
Shooting Investigation – On December 27, 2023 at 7:49PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Ravens Crest Apartments located in the 8100 block of Cobden Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed several gunshots were heard as two vehicles quickly fled the area. Rounds struck the exterior siding of one the apartments in the complex. No injuries were reported by residents inside the home. Multiple cases were also located in the parking lot. While police were investigating the incident, a 20-year-old man arrived at an area hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his back. The man was reportedly a passenger inside a vehicle traveling in the same area as the reported shooting when a round entered the vehicle he was in and struck him. The man was then driven to the hospital where police were contacted. The man became uncooperative with investigators as to further questioning of the incident.

Reckless Handing of a Firearm – On Dec. 27, 2023 at 11:56PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Coverstone Dr and Gales Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed multiple gunshots were heard as a white, four door sedan quickly fled the area. Further reports indicated a group was gathered in the same area at the time of the shots being heard. Officers located an unspent bulletand several shell casings on the sidewalk near the intersection. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.

ARRESTS
• Assault & Battery | PWC Public School Staff Member Arrest – On Dec. 27, 2023 Prince William County Police officers concluded an investigation into an alleged assault by a teacher against a student that was reported to have occurred at Marshall Elementary School located at 12505 Kahns Rd in Manassas (20112) on Nov. 29. The investigation revealed a student, a 9-year-old girl, was grabbed and dragged by a teacher, identified as the accused, from one classroom inside the school to another. The incident was reported to the police later that evening.
The victim sustained minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Christine Annette MITCHELL, was charged.
