PWC Police Crime Report for Oct. 25, 2023: Fugitive arrested in July 1 attempted assault

• Attempted Malicious Wounding on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] *ARREST –
On October 25, 2023 the suspect sought in connection to the attempted assaults on LEO that were reported to have occurred in the 16700 block of Interstate Dr. in Dumfries (22026) on July 1, 2023 was arrested. The accused, identified as McKayla Nicole STRAIT, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in Raliegh, NC where she will remain until extradited to Prince William County.

Attempted Malicious Wounding on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] [Previously Released] –
On July 1 at 2:17PM, officers responded to the 16700 block of Interstate Dr. in Dumfries (22026) for a report of a large party occurring in the area. As officers were investigating, they observed a woman, identified as the accused, who was actively wanted. When officers attempted to make contact with the accused, she got into a vehicle and drove the vehicle towards the officers. The officers, and a nearby 37-year-old man, were able to quickly get out of the way to avoid being struck by the accused. As the accused fled the area, she struck multiple unoccupied parked vehicles before placing the vehicle in reverse and almost striking another officer. The accused fled the area at a high rate of speed. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as McKayla Nicole STRAIT. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

INCIDENTS
• Armed Robbery –
On October 24, 2023 at 2:37PM,  Prince Willam County Police officers responded to the 1800 block of Reddy Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 53-year-old woman, was approached by two unknown men in the parking lot in the above area. During the encounter, one of the suspects brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s money. The suspects fled on foot and the victim left the area before contacting the police. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. The suspects were described as a Hispanic male and a black male, both reportedly in their 20’s, wearing black colored clothing.

ARRESTS
• Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related –
On October 23 at 10:32PM, Prince Willam County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 10800 block of Monocacy Way in Manassas (20112) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 27-year- old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times before pushing her against the wall which caused her to strike her head. The accused then kicked the victim, grabbed her by the neck, and struck her again before she went unconscious. When officers arrived at the residence, the victim was found unconscious. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Oscar Henrique SANTOS RODRIGUEZ, who was taken into custody without incident the following morning.
