PWC Crime Report for Aug. 2, 2023: Juveniles charged in shooting into Bristow bedroom

ARRESTS
• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On July 29, 2023 at 10:14PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a destruction of property that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 9500 block of Merrimont Trace Cl. in Bristow (20136) on July 25 around 2:00AM.
The investigation revealed a round entered the home through a bedroom wall. While investigating the incident, the PWC police officers received information identifying the suspects as two 15-year-old male juveniles, who were known by a resident of the home. Further investigation revealed, one of the juvenile suspects took a firearm from his own home before both juveniles drove to the above area. No additional property damage or injuries were reported.
On July 31, following the investigation, officers obtained petitions for both juveniles. After consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in a formal action to be handled through the court process at a later date.

• Abduction | Domestic Related – On August 1, 2023 at 3:46AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Springhill Suites located in the 14300 block of Crossing Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 29-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.
During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim’s hair and dragged her to the ground before striking her multiple times. When the victim attempted to use her phone to contact the police, the accused forcibly knocked the phone from her hand. At one point, the victim attempted to leave the hotel room before being pulled back into the room. The parties eventually separated, and the accused left the room before police arrived at the hotel.
While checking the area, officers located the accused nearby and took him into custody without incident. During a search of the accused, he was found in possession of brass knuckles. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alante Joseph ROGERS, was arrested.
