Va. Conservation League to meet with PWC legislators July 27 at Kelly Center

Virginia League of Conservation Voters - an environmental non-profit organization based in Richmond and doing work across Virginia, will hold a July 27, 2023 Town Hall meeting in Manassas with State Senator Jeremy McPike and Delegates Briana Sewell, Candi King and Michelle Maldonado,

The intent of the Town Hall is to discuss the legislators’ work holding the line on climate progress and to call out Governor Youngkin’s continuing attacks on the organization’s “best tools to address climate change, protect communities from flooding, and secure a clean energy future,” a news release said.

As part of the group’s 2023 Conservation Scorecard release, the organization said it decided this year to hold a series of town hall events with lawmakers who prioritized environmental protection during the 2023 legislative session, which saw a number of attempts to walk back the progress we’ve made on climate action here in Virginia.

The Thursday, July 27 event will be held at Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, 14715 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112 starting at 6 p.m.
