Woodbridge parents charged with child neglect

Felony Child Neglect – On Monday, May 22, 2023 Prince William County Police officers concluded an investigation into a child neglect incident that occurred in the 12600 block of Westridge Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) on May 2 at 10:46AM.

The investigation revealed the driver of a Toyota Rav 4 was traveling northbound on Westridge Dr. when the child, an 8-year-old boy, walked into the roadway and was struck. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The child was transported to an area hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.

Further investigation revealed the mother and father of the child left the residence without providing appropriate care for the victim. Shortly after the parents left the residence, the victim walked out of the home and into the roadway where he was struck. After consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, the driver of the vehicle was not criminally charged. Following the investigation, the parents of the victim, identified as Firoze Mohammed HASSAN and Hassan MOHAMED, were arrested.
