Triple Homicide Investigation *PARTIES IDENTIFIED | INVESTIGATIVE DETAILS – On May 17, 2023 the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Manassas conducted autopsies on the three deceased family members located in a residence in the 5100 block of Cannon Bluff Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) on May 16. The preliminary investigation into the incident revealed an altercation occurred among the three deceased resulting in one of family members, the 38-year-old son, fatally stabbing his 70-year-old mother.
At one point during the encounter, it is believed the son and his 67-year-old father continued the altercation, resulting in both ultimately sustaining fatal injuries from a bayonet that was used in the encounter. It is currently believed the son’s fatal injuries were not self-inflicted and were sustained during the altercation with his father.
The father was able to contact police before being transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. The son was also transported to an area hospital and later died while the mother was pronounced dead on scene. The son, identified as Nicholas Lee REAMS, is being considered the primary aggressor in the incident which resulted in the death of his parents. At this time, the incident is considered domestic-related. Any further pertinent details in this investigation will be released as needed. The investigation continues.

Homicide Investigation [Previously Released] – On May 16 at 7:17AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5100 block of Cannon Bluff Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a stabbing. When officers arrived at the home, they located three occupants, identified as a 67-year-old man, a 70-year-old woman, and a 38-year-old man, all suffering from stab wounds. Officers immediately provided first aid until fire and rescue personnel arrived on scene. The female party was pronounced dead at the scene while both male parties were transported to an area hospital where they died from their injuries. The parties were determined to be family members and the altercation was contained to the residence. At this time, the three parties believed to be involved in the altercation are accounted for and there is no known threat to the community. Detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine the course of events leading up to the call to police by the older male occupant. The identity of the three deceased will be released pending notification of a next-of-kin. The investigation continues.
INCIDENTS
Residential Burglary – On Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:00AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Kensington Pl. Apartments located in the 2200 block of York Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Video surveillance revealed at approximately 12:00AM, a tow truck stopped in front of the garage where an unknown man exited and then entered the ground level garage through the unsecured door. While inside, the man manipulated the garage door panel so the door would stay open before leaving in the tow truck. No entry was made into the main residential area and no property was reported missing.

A white male, between 25-35 years old, with a heavy build, short hair, and a full beard

ARRESTS
Malicious Wounding | Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May 11, 2023 at 5:38PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 4700 block of Hersand Ct. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 24-year-old man, and a juvenile family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.
At one point during the encounter, other parties attempted to intervene. The accused and a separate juvenile family member then left the residence. While checking the area, officers located both the accused and the family member. As officers attempted to detain them, they both refused to follow the officer’s commands and actively resisted being detained.
The accused pushed an officer while the family member attempted to bite another officer. Eventually, both juveniles were taken into custody without further incident.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No injuries were reported by the officers.
Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile, was arrested and officers sought petitions for the other family member, identified as a 15-year-old female juvenile.
After consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the 15-year-old female juvenile case resulted in an informal action and will be handled through the juvenile diversion process.
