INCIDENTS
• Stabbing Investigation – On Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 7:33AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Somerset Point Apartments located in the 7500 block of Equinox Landing Ct. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a stabbing. Upon arriving in the parking lot of the apartment complex, officers located the victim, a 31-year-old man, inside of a vehicle suffering from stab wounds.
Officers provided first aid until rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. The initial investigation revealed the victim was near the apartment building when he was stabbed multiple times.
The victim then walked to his vehicle in the parking lot while calling for help. A bystander heard the victim and contacted emergency services. At this time, the incident does not appear random. The investigation continues.
• Felony Hit & Run Investigation – On March 26, 2023 at 10:31PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 8500 block of Yorkshire Ln. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a vehicle crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Yorkshire Ln. approaching the intersection with Old Centreville Rd. when they lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway. The driver struck an unoccupied vehicle and a fence before striking the residence and becoming disabled. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot prior to police arriving at the scene. No injuries were reported. The suspect was described as a tall black male wearing all grey clothing. The investigation continues.
ARRESTS
• Shooting Investigation – On Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 1:37PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Woodbridge Station Apartments located in the 13600 block of Kitty Hawk Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting.
Upon arriving at the apartment building, officers located the victim, a 28-year-old woman, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided first aid until rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where her injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.
The investigation revealed two groups were involved in a verbal altercation when multiple shots were fired. Both groups dispersed on foot, while some fled in a white vehicle. Responding officers located the suspect vehicle nearby and attempted a vehicle stop. The driver of the vehicle disregarded the officer’s emergency equipment and continued driving. Eventually, the vehicle stopped in the area of Cove Landing Dr. where the occupants fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, one of the occupants, identified as the accused, was detained.
A police K-9 searched the area for the other suspects who were not located. While checking the above area, officers located two apartments that were struck by rounds. Shell casings were also located in the area of Ranger Lp. No additional injuries were reported.
Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alhajie Alpha KAMARA, was arrested. The investigation continues.

• Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 5:38PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Econolodge located at 17005 Dumfries Rd. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shooting.
Upon arriving in the parking lot of the hotel, Dumfries police officers located the victim, a 37-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound to his face. Officers provided first aid until rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where his injures were determined to be non-life threatening.
The investigation revealed there were multiple occupants inside a vehicle parked in the lot where the victim and an acquaintance began to argue.
During the encounter, the accused shot the victim before fleeing the area on foot. Officers and a police K-9 searched the area for the accused who was eventually located and taken into custody without incident. No additional injuries were reported, and no property damage was located. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ishmeal Lee MCGRIFF, was arrested.

• Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 7:39AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a stabbing that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 14800 block of Hyatt Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that morning. Carlos Ernesto MONTECINOS, 49, of 14894 Hyatt Pl. in Woodbridge • Strangulation | Domestic Related – On March 26, 2023 at 10:55PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 11200 block of Golden Leaf Cl. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed the victim, a 54-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. • Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On March 25, 2023 at 7:04PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Super 8 Motel located at 17416 Richmond Hwy. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed a patron, later identified as the accused, was handling his firearm inside of a motel room when a round was fired. The round entered the wall of the motel room and continued into an occupied adjoining room. The accused quickly left the hotel after the incident. The investigation revealed the accused, and a female acquaintance were parked in the above area when the victim, a 29-year-old man, approached their vehicle. The accused exited the vehicle and confronted the victim who was known to both parties. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times before the parties separated.
The victim left the area and realized he had been stabbed. The victim was transported to an area hospital where police were contacted. While at the hospital, the victim’s injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Carlos Ernesto MONTECINOS, was arrested.

• Rape – On March 22, 2023 at 8:47AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in the Manassas (20111) area of Prince William County earlier that morning. The investigation revealed the victim, who is under the age of 13, was driven to a residence by the accused who then sexually assaulted her. The accused then drove the victim to school where she reported the incident to school personnel who contacted the police. The accused is known to the victim. On March 24, following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jose Bernaldino AGUILAR-ABELARES, was arrested.

During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim onto the bed and grabbed her neck. The victim was eventually able to separate from the accused who then followed the victim and pushed her down onto the sofa where he then grabbed her throat a second time. The victim temporarily lost consciousness. When the victim woke, the accused had left the residence and the police were contacted. The victim reported minor injuries.
Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Bryan Daniel RIVAS PAZ. Later that evening, officers located the accused in the Woodbridge area where he was taken into custody without incident.

The occupants of the adjoining room reported the shooting to an employee of the motel who contacted the police. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. Later that evening, the accused returned to the motel where he encountered officers and was detained. The accused was also determined to be intoxicated. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jesse Lee MEADOWS, was arrested.

• Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On March 26 at 10:28PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 13200 block of Hampshire Ct. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a fight. While officers were investigating the incident, a man, later identified as the accused, was seen actively destroying property.
At one point, the accused yelled at the officers, and disregarded their commands before walking outside of the residence. When the accused got outside, he struck an officer who was standing near the doorway. A brief struggle ensued where the accused struck another officer. Eventually, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. While investigating the incident, officers determined the accused was intoxicated. Minor injuries were reported by one of the officers. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Juan Fernando DIAZ RIVERA, was arrested.
