Manassas man held without bond on charge of impersonating police officer

• Impersonating a Police Officer - On Nov.23, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to the 9400 block of West Street in the City of Manassas where a male and female victim reported that a male subject approached them claiming to be a Police Officer and started to ask them questions. The suspect displayed a business card belonging to a Manassas City Police Officer to the couple and claimed he was law enforcement. Shortly after the incident, the suspect was located nearby and was arrested. Upon arrest it was discovered that the accused approached other people in the area of Old Town indicating he was a Police Officer.
Arrested: Impersonating a Police Officer/Obstruction of Justice/Intoxicated in Public
27 YOA Christopher Morneau of Manassas.
Court date pending, no bond.

• Malicious Wounding
On Nov.25, 2022 Manassas City Police responded to the 9000 block of Liberia Avenue (Taco Baja), in the City of Manassas, for a report of an assault. The victim reported an acquaintance hit him over the head with an unknown object in the parking lot of the business and then left the area in an unknown direction. This is an active investigation and anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact Manassas City Police listed below.

• Larceny - On Nov. 27, 2022 Manassas City Police responded to the 8800 block of Centreville Road (R&B Laundromat), in the City of Manassas, for the report of a larceny. An employee of the laundromat stated that at approximately 7:45 a.m. the office door was propped open and when the on-duty attendant stepped out, the cash register containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was taken. Suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact Manassas City Police listed below.
