PWC Police Crime Report: Nov. 14, 2022 - Suspect in robbery cooked himself something to eat

• Sexual Assault Investigation *ARREST – On Nov.12, 2022 the suspect sought in connection to the sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Woodbridge (22193) area of Prince William County between March 2018 and July 2019, was arrested. The accused, William Aurelio ROMERO CHAVEZ, was located and taken into custody in Creek County, OK, where he will remain until extradited to Virginia.
Arrested on November 12:

Charged with 2 counts of aggravated sexual battery

Sexual Assault Investigation [Previously Released] – On September 6, detectives with the Special Victims Bureau began an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Woodbridge (22193) area of Prince William County between March 2018 and July 2019. The investigation revealed during the that timeframe, the accused sexually assaulted the victim, who was under the age of 13 at the time of the offense. While investigating the incident, detectives also determined the accused sexually assaulted a second girl who was under the age of 13 during the same timeframe. Both victims were known to the accused. The victims recently reported the incidents to a family member who contacted the police prompting the investigation. On November 8, following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as William ROMERO. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

INCIDENTS
• Brandishing of a Firearm – On Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022 at 2:21AM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the Sheetz located at 4021 Prince William Pkwy. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed the victims, a 26-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, followed a silver Toyota Highlander into the parking lot of the above location before parking at the gas pumps. The driver of the Highlander then approached the victims while they were in their vehicle and brandished a firearm. The victims quickly drove out of the area and contacted the police. The suspects fled prior to police arriving on the scene. At no point during the encounter were shots fired.

•Commercial Burglary – On Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 at 3:31AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to One Hansen Pharmacy located at 3286 Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an alarm activation. Upon arriving at the business, officers observed damage to the front door of the business. Surveillance footage revealed two masked individuals used a prybar to force entry into the business and then into a secured office area. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and prescription medication before fleeing the area in a white sedan.
Suspect Descriptions:
Two men, unknown ages, both approximately 6’0”, with thin builds

One of the men was last seen wearing a mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, blue medical-style gloves, and New Balance shoes, while the other man was last seen wearing a mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, blue medical-style gloves, and black/white shoes

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 12 at 1:12AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Regency Apartments located in the 9900 block of Shallow Creek Lp. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed the resident of the apartment woke to a loud noise before observing a window open in a bedroom. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2022 at 12:48PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 3700 block of Russell Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed entry into the home was attempted sometime between 12:00AM on Nov. 10 and 11:00AM on Nov.11 through the rear basement door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the apartment and no property was reported missing.

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On Nov. 10, 2022 at 7:30PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Sherbrooke Condos located in the 3500 block of Sherbrooke Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed entry into the residence was attempted sometime between 4:30PM on Nov. 9 and 6:35PM on Nov. 10 through the rear storm door which was found unsecured and damaged. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

ARRESTS
• Armed Robbery –
On Nov. 12 at 11:01PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Pizza Hut located at 8263 Shoppers Square in Manassas (20111) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the accused walked into the store and past the service counter towards the kitchen area. While in the kitchen, the accused retrieved food items from the freezer and began cooking them before lifting up his shirt and revealing a knife to an employee. The accused then took the unpaid food items and left the business.
While in the parking lot, the accused brandished the knife towards another employee who attempted to confront the accused. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance from Fairfax County police searched the area for the accused who was not located. The accused was known to the employees. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as David Obed MELARA who was located and taken into custody without incident the next day.
