PWC Crime Report: Sept. 20, 2022 -  Phone buyer says he was threatened; sexual assault of child, 2

Incidents
• Armed Robbery –
On September 19, 2022 at 6:28PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 15100 block of Blackburn Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 39-year-old man, arranged to sell an unknown individual a phone via a social media app. While the victim was in the parking lot of Rippon Middle School, he was approached by the buyer and another unknown male, both of whom were possibly juveniles. Before the transaction was completed, the buyer, who was in possession of the phone at the time, implied he had a weapon and threatened the victim. Both suspects then fled the area on foot and the victim contacted the police. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance from Fairfax County police searched the area for the suspects who were not located.
Suspect Descriptions:
Both suspects were light skinned black males, approximately 5’7”, with skinny builds

• Malicious Wounding – On September 20, 2022 at 1:10AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 13300 block of Occoquan Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 68-year-old man, was in the wooded area near the above location when he was approached by an acquaintance. During the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated when the acquaintance struck the victim multiple times before retrieving a glass bottle and striking the victim. The parties separated and the acquaintance fled the area on foot. The victim walked to a local business where the police were contacted. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was described as a black male with long black hair twists. The investigation continues.

• Residential Burglary – On September 19, 2022 at 12:05PM, Prince William County Polic officers responded to a residence located in the 11200 block of Wheeler Ridge Dr. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed the home was burglarized sometime between 8:00PM on September 18 and 11:00AM on September 19. Entry was made into the home through the rear door which was found damaged. A television, clothing, jewelry, and an undisclosed amount of money were reported missing.

• Residential Burglary – On September 18, 2022 at 10:19PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 14000 block of Mathews Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed the home was burglarized sometime between 5:45AM and 9:15PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A fanny pack was reported missing.

ARRESTS
• Aggravated Sexual Battery –
On September 10, 2022 at 10:18PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the Woodbridge (22191) area of Prince William County to investigate a sexual assault. The investigation revealed earlier that evening an acquaintance, identified as the accused, was visiting the home when he was observed inappropriately touching the victim, a 2-year-old boy. The family member confronted the accused and quickly separated the victim from the accused. The accused left the residence later that evening and the police were contacted. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, on September 19, the accused, identified as Osman Alexis BANEGAS CHAVEZ, was arrested.

• Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On September 3 at 8:40PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 9900 block of Henrico St. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed occupants of the home, including the victim, a 21-year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times with a wooden table leg before the parties were separated. The accused fled the area, and the police were contacted. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. On September 6, following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Ismael MARCHORRO GUERRA, who turned himself in to police without incident on September 19.

• Residential Burglary – On September 9, 2022 detectives with the Prince William County Police Department’s Property Crimes Bureau concluded an investigation into a burglary that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 8700 block of Pebble Ln. in Manassas (20111) on August 25 sometime between 8:00AM and 4:30PM. The investigation revealed the suspect removed the air conditioning unit from the window to gain entry into the home. A computer, gaming equipment, a cell phone, jewelry, shoes, a watch, coins, and clothing were reported missing. During the investigation, detectives were notified by Fairfax County police that a man in their custody was found in possession of items reported missing from the above residence. Following the investigation, detectives identified the man as Lorenzo Antonio MELENDEZ RIVAS. On September 5, following the investigation, Prince William County detectives obtained warrants for the accused who was taken into custody by Fairfax County police without incident on September 9.
