PWC Police Report for Monday, May 16, 2022: Vandalism, graffiti found at skate area at Veterans Park

Incidents
• Armed Robbery –
On May 15, 2022 at 2:32AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 2700 block of Neabsco Common Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 45-year-old man, reported to police that he was delivering an order in the above area, when he was approached by an unknown man who told the victim to make the delivery on the side of the building. While at the side of the building, a second unknown man approached the victim while brandishing a knife and demanding the victim’s keys. When the suspects had the keys, they forced the victim out of the vehicle before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported. While investigating the incident, officers located the victim’s unoccupied vehicle in the Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.
Suspect Descriptions:
(1) A black male, possibly a juvenile, approximately 5’2”, and 150lbs.
Last seen wearing a long-sleeve gray shirt and gray sweatpants
(2) A Hispanic male, possibly a juvenile, approximately 5’2”, and 160lbs.
Last seen wearing a black-long sleeve shirt, black pants and carrying a kitchen knife

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 15, 2022 at 12:56PM, Prince William County Police officers initially responded to the area of Dundee Ct. near Duran Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area. No evidence of a shooting was located in the reported area. While canvassing the neighborhood, officers were informed that gunshots were heard in the 4100 block of Ferrara Ter. While checking that area, officers located several shell casings on the gravel path between two rows of townhomes. No injuries or property damage were reported.

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 14, 2022 at 8:05PM, officers responded to the 5200 block of Davis Ford Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that a 15-year-old male juvenile, a 12-year-old boy, and a 10-year-old boy were outside when they observed a newer model red Toyota Camry, occupied with three unknown individuals, driving on Davis Ford Rd.
As the vehicle got closer to the boys, several gunshots were fired before the vehicle quickly fled the area. The boys ran inside and notified an adult who contacted the police. No injuries or property damage were reported. At this time, it is unknown if the shots were directed towards the juveniles. While canvassing, additional residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the area during the same timeframe. The only suspect descriptions are a light-skinned black male driver and one of the other individuals was wearing a ski mask.

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 14, 2022 at 11:15PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Forest Grove Dr. and Henry Watts Lp. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 21-year-old man, was driving near Forest Grove Dr. and Gatehouse Ter., when he observed two unknown individuals on the side of the road.
As the victim drove by the individuals, gunshots were fired towards his vehicle. The victim initially left the area and eventually returned where he encountered the police. The suspects fled prior to police arriving in the area. No injuries or property damage were reported. While checking the area, officers located shell casings on the ground near the above area.

• Unlawful Entry – On May 15, 2022 at 5:00PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate an unlawful entry that was reported to have occurred at Bel Air Elementary School located at 14151 Ferndale Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) earlier that morning. A school employee reported to police that entry was made into the school sometime between 6:30AM and 6:45AM. Video surveillance revealed that two unknown juveniles were outside of the school when one of them covered their arm with clothing before smashing a classroom window and entering the building. Officers searched the school for the suspects who were not located. No property was reported missing.
Suspect Descriptions:
(1) A black male juvenile, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, camouflage-style pants, and white Crocs
(2) A black male juvenile, last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with an orange design on the front and back, black pants, and black Crocs

• Vandalism – On Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2:23PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Veterans Park located at 14300 Veterans Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a vandalism. The investigation revealed that swastika symbols and Stars of David, along with other graffiti, were spray painted on several areas of the skate park to include the concrete bowl and the elevated rail. The drawings did not appear to contain any threat and the Prince William County Parks and Recreation Department were notified to remove the images. No additional markings in the area have been reported.

Arrests
• Child Neglect –
On Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11:05PM, while on patrol in the area of Hoadly Rd. and Prince William Pkwy. in Woodbridge (22192), Prince William County Police officers conducted a vehicle stop on a driver for disregarding a red traffic signal. The driver, identified as the accused, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and taken into custody without incident. While investigating, officers observed a 2-year-old boy in the rear of the vehicle and determined he was not secured properly. The child was unharmed and turned over to a family member. While investigating, officers also determined that the accused was driving without a valid driver’s license. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Danny Jose SARABIA, was arrested.

Charged with felony child neglect, dui, driving without a valid driver’s license, and traffic light violation

• Assault and Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Friday, May 13, 2022 at 6:36PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 12700 block of Lost Creek Ct. in Manassas (20112) to assist rescue personnel with an individual who was physically resisting treatment for a medical emergency. Upon arriving at the residence, officers observed a 24-year-old woman, identified as the accused, actively resisting rescue personnel. Officers quickly assisted in attempting to secure the accused who continued to strike both rescue personnel and the officers. Eventually, the accused was secured and transported to an area hospital for further treatment and evaluation. During the altercation, the accused struck, kicked, and attempted to bite officers. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Anna Lee GULICH, was charged.

• Attempt to Disarm a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 1:23PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the 1900 block of Opitz Blvd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a person running into the roadway. Upon arriving in the area, officers observed a woman, later identified as the accused, being held in place by a witness. While investigating the incident, the accused continued her efforts to flee. As officers were attempting to detain the accused to keep her from hurting herself, she grabbed an officer’s weapon and attempted to remove it from the holster. After a brief struggle, the accused was secured without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Madeline Elizabeth SMITH, was arrested.

• Minor in Possession of Firearm – On May 14 at 4:45PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the Manassas Mall located at 8300 Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an individual with a firearm. The investigation revealed that an individual wearing a ski-style mask was observed concealing a firearm on his person before entering the mall. Officers made contact with an individual who matched the description provided to police. During the encounter, the officers attempted to detain the individual, later identified as the accused, who was determined to have been concealing a firearm in his waistband. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. Officers took possession of and secured the firearm. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 16-year-old male juvenile, was arrested.
