Incidents
• Shooting Investigation at Benton Middle School – On Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 10:23AM, officers responded to Benton Middle School located at 7411 Hoadly Rd. in Manassas (20112) to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers observed a large number of people fleeing the area before locating a 24-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Community members, and then officers provided first aid to the victim before the victim was flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. At this time, the victim is expected to survive.
The initial investigation revealed that during a community event at the outdoor athletic field, two men were engaged in a verbal altercation with an acquaintance, identified as the suspect. At some point the encounter escalated, and the suspect retrieved a firearm from his person and fired multiple rounds towards the men, striking both men. One of the men struck was identified as the 24-year-old man whom officers located upon arrival at the school. The second man, identified as a 33-year-old, was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries prior to police arriving in the at the school.
Responding officers searched the interior of the school for precautionary reasons and did not locate anyone inside or any property damage. While canvassing outside of the school, police K-9 and officers located a firearm which was collected for further processing. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance from Fairfax County police searched the area for the suspect who was not located. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact police.

• School Threat Investigation – On April 29 at 1:30PM, officers responded to Hampton Middle School located at 14800 Darbydale Ave. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate suspicious individuals inside the school. The investigation revealed that four males, possibly juveniles, gained access to the school through a side door. While the suspects walked around the school, they were overheard making threats to shoot up the school. School personnel were eventually informed that there were unknown males inside the school and notified security who secured the school. A short time later, school officials confronted the suspects, they fled out of the school. At no time were any weapons observed or displayed. Officers searched the school and the grounds for the suspects who were not located. Prince William County Police Officers remained at the school through dismissal as a precaution.
• Malicious Wounding – On April 29, 2022 at 6:25AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 7600 block of Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a fight with weapons. Upon arrival in the above area, officers located a 45-year-old male, in and out of consciousness with apparent facial lacerations. Officers provided first aid for the victim until rescue personnel arrived at the location and flew him to an area hospital. The investigation revealed that the victim was sitting inside his vehicle, when he was approached by an unknown man. The two men were engaged in a brief verbal altercation before the suspect began to strike the victim. During the encounter, a wooden stick was also used to strike the victim. At some point a bystander intervened and the parties separated. The suspect fled the area in a white 4-door Nissan sedan. The only suspect description is a Hispanic male last seen wearing a ripped red shirt. The investigation continues.
• Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery – On April 29 at 8:53PM, officers responded to the Summertree Condominiums located in the 7500 block of Margate Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 38-year-old woman, reported to police that while she was in the parking lot of the above location, she was approached by an acquaintance, identified as the accused. At one point during the encounter, the accused became upset and attempted to take the victim’s phone. When the victim was able to maintain control of the phone, a brief struggle over the victim’s keys ensued. Eventually, the victim was able to separate from the accused and drove out of the area to contact the police. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Shamar Kashawn KING. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Residential Burglary – On May 2. 2022 at 3:24AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Landview Dr. in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that they woke to a noise from a lower level of the residence. The investigation revealed that entry into the home was gained through the basement window which was found damaged. No property was reported missing, and no additional damage was reported.

• Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On April 30, 2022 at 7:00PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate an assault that was reported to have occurred in the area of Sentry Falls Way and Beacon Ridge Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) during the evening of April 28. The victim, a 26-year-old woman, reported to police that while in a vehicle with an acquaintance, identified as the accused, a verbal altercation escalated. During the encounter, the accused threw a plastic bottle striking the victim. The victim eventually responded to the hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury, where police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Stephanie Irenee MAMADY, was arrested.

• Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO]— On April 30, 2022 at 8:35PM, Prince William County Police officers observed the driver of a vehicle fail to maintain his lane of travel in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Wayside Dr. in Dumfries (22026) and attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as the accused, disregarded the officer’s emergency equipment and continued driving. A short distance later, the accused failed to navigate the turn onto Dumfries Rd. and struck vehicles stopped at the intersection causing the accused’s vehicle to become disabled.
When the officer attempted to take the accused into custody, the accused actively resisted and refused to follow officers’ commands. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. During the altercation, the accused struck an officer who was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The accused was treated at the scene for minor injuries sustained during the altercation. While investigating, officers located suspected illegal narcotics in the accused’s possession. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kendall Raymone RIVERS, was arrested.

• Residential Burglary – On April 29, 2022 at 4:52PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Westminister at Lake Ridge Engaged Living located at 12191 Clipper Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed that earlier in the day, a man, later identified as the accused, entered the building through an unsecured rear door. Video surveillance revealed that the accused walked around the building for a short time before entering into an unsecured apartment. While inside the apartment, an occupant of the residence returned and confronted the accused, who quickly left. The accused is then seen entering a second unsecured apartment. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing from both apartments. Following the investigation, officers identified the accused as Wesley Joseph WOODEN HARRIS, and obtained warrants for his arrest. On April 30, the accused was taken into custody without incident.
