PWC Police Report for April 25, 2022 - Suspect charged with assault & battery on six police officers

• Assault & Battery on Six Law Enforcement Officers [LEO] –
On April 25, 2022 at 12:50AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Potomac Vista Apartments located in the 14100 block of Bay Vista Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a man who was banging on doors and attempting to enter an apartment. When police arrived at the location, officers located the man, later identified as the accused, who was determined to be intoxicated.
When officers attempted to detain the accused, he actively resisted and resisted officer’s commands. The accused was extremely combative and resistant to the officers who were detaining him. During the arrest, the accused kicked and struck three officers. Eventually the accused was detained and escorted to a rescue personnel for evaluation. At that point, the accused continued to thrash his body and resist before he head-butted two additional officers and spat on a separate officer. In total, the accused assaulted six officers before being secured. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Sameer Mohamed ELYAS, was arrested.

• Strong-Arm Robbery | Residential Burglary – On April 22 at 6:58PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9500 block of Covington Pl in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 36-year-old woman, and a neighbor, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim before forcibly taking her cell phone before approaching the victim’s home. The victim attempted to retrieve her phone and stop the accused from entering her residence when an acquaintance of the accused intervened and grabbed and struck the victim. The accused then went into the victim’s home and began knocking items off shelves before being confronted by a family member of the victim. Police were contacted and detained the parties without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Isaac Saqueo GUZMAN LOPEZ, was arrested. The acquaintance of the accused, identified as Ana Iris PEREZ GUZMAN, was also charged.

• Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On April 24 at 9:00AM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the Bayvue Apartments located in the 1200 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed the victim, a 30-year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the victim was cut with a knife causing a laceration to his hand. The victim sought medical attention for his injury later that day. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Trevon Dominique-Cordero AVANT, was arrested.

On April 24, the suspect sought in connection to the domestic assault that was reported to have occurred at the Raven Crests Apartments located in the 8000 block of Lyon Cir in Manassas (20109) on April 21, was arrested. The accused, identified as Jonathan Edson DIAZ ROCHA, turned himself into police without incident.

Malicious Wounding| Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On April 21 at 3:32AM, officers responded to the Raven Crests Apartments located in the 8000 block of Lyon Cir in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed the victim, a 30-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the face with a charcuterie board. The victim contacted police and the accused left the residence prior to officers arriving at the home. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a laceration to her face. The victim’s injury was determined to be non-life threatening. Following the investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant for the accused, identified as Jonathan Edson DIAZ ROCHA. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Strong-Arm Robbery *ARREST – On April 22, officers responded to the 17100 block of Old Stage Rd in reference to an individual believed to be sought in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Exxon service station located at 17019 Dumfries Rd in Dumfries (22025) the day prior. When officers arrived, the located the individual, later identified as the accused, and determined he was wanted on several unrelated charges. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he actively resisted and refused officer’s commands. After a brief struggle, the accused was eventually secured. During the investigation, officers were able to confirm the accused was the suspect in the aforementioned robbery. In addition, during a search of the accused post-arrest, he was found to be in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kenneth Robert CLAYTON, was arrested.

Strong-Arm Robbery [Previously Released] – On April 21 at 4:35AM, officers responded to the Exxon service station located at 17019 Dumfries Rd in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a robbery. An employee of the business reported to police that an unknown man entered the store and approached the counter where he demanded money. The man and employee exchanged words before the man proceeded towards the door. Before exiting the business, the man turned quickly and grabbed money under the partition from the employee prior to fleeing. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located.

• Shooting Investigation –
On April 23, 2022 at 2:59AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 13400 block of Photo Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. As police were arriving in the area, officers observed a white sedan strike two vehicles before fleeing at a high rate of speed. A second vehicle was also located and occupied by multiple individuals. While checking the area, officers also located multiple items, a bullet, and other evidence of a shooting. The investigation revealed a physical altercation had occurred as attendees were leaving a party at a home on the street. At one point during the altercation, shots were fired before the parties dispersed. Multiple individuals were located and were not cooperative with officers. No victims were located, and no property damage was reported.

• Armed Robbery – On April 23, 2022 at 9:58PM, officers responded to the Bahama Breeze located at 2714 Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed an unknown teenaged male entered the restaurant and grabbed a purse that was hanging on the wall near the hostess stand and fled the business. The victim, a 19-year-old woman, observed the suspect grab her purse and chased him to the parking lot where the suspect then pulled out a knife. A bystander intervened and the suspect returned the purse before getting into a white SUV and fleeing the area. No injuries were reported, and the stolen property was returned.

• Indecent Exposure – On April 22, 2022 at 2:34PM, officers responded to investigate an indecent exposure that was reported to have occurred at the Woodwind Villa Apartments located in the 14400 block of Saxophone Way in Woodbridge (22191) on April 13. The investigation revealed the victim, a 42-year-old woman, was walking her dog when she observed a man remove his pants and walk nude towards the leasing office. The man eventually walked back and retrieved his pants before clothing himself and walking towards a breezeway. No contact was made between the victim and the man. The man was seen again on April 22 prompting the victim to notify the property manager who then contacted police. Video surveillance captured the incident and officers are following-up to identify the man.

• Residential Burglary – On April 22, 2022 at 8:33PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15400 block of Wheatfield Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The Investigation revealed a vehicle parked in the home’s garage was entered earlier that morning around 5:00AM. Video surveillance showed an unknown individual approached the garage and entered through the open overhead door. Once inside the garage, the suspect entered the unlocked vehicle and took various property before fleeing the area. There were no signs of forced entry into the garage or vehicle and no entry was made into the main residence.

• Residential Burglary – On April 22, 2022 at 5:55PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4900 block of Dane Ridge Cir in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The Investigation revealed the burglary occurred sometime between 1:00PM and 5:00PM. Entry was made into the garage area through the open overhead door. Once inside the garage, the suspect took an arcade machine. There were no signs of forced entry into the garage and no entry was made into the main residence.

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On April 24, 2022 at 6:40PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8100 block of Community Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed an unknown person attempted to enter the home through a rear door. A resident of the home reported seeing and hearing the doorknob rattle. No suspect was seen. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing or damaged.

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On April 24, 2022 at 10:17AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Carson Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed an unknown person attempted to enter the home through a basement level door. A resident of the home reported hearing a noise. Upon checking the residence, an unknown man was seen attempting to squeeze through the door. The suspect was reportedly intoxicated and was believed to have been at the wrong residence. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing or damaged. The suspect was only described as a light-skinned Hispanic man in his 20’s.
