• Fatal Crash Investigation *DRIVER CHARGED –
Investigators with the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit, have charged the driver of the 2009 Mercedes E350 in connection with the fatal crash that occurred in the area of Minnieville Rd and Smoketown Rd in Woodbridge (22192) on April 13. The investigation revealed the driver was traveling more than the posted speed limit when he disregarded a red traffic signal at the intersection and struck a 2016 Toyota Highlander. The resulting collision killed the driver of the Toyota, identified as a 77-year-old Woodbridge man, and injured a 64-year-old female occupant in the vehicle. Another driver, a 72-year-old woman, was also injured when the force from the collision pushed one of the involved vehicles into her vehicle, a 2000 Honda Accord. Following the investigation, the at-fault driver, identified as Andrew William IRWIN, was charged. The accused remains hospitalized and will be served upon release.

Fatal Crash Investigation [Previously Released] – On April 13, 2022 at 1:20PM, investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Minnieville Rd and Smoketown Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a three-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2009 Mercedes E350 was traveling south on Minnieville Rd approaching Smoketown Rd, when the driver disregarded a red traffic signal and proceeded into the intersection where the vehicle collided with a 2016 Toyota Highlander that was traveling eastbound on Smoketown Rd through the intersection. The impact of the collision forced the Toyota into another vehicle, a 2000 Honda Accord, that was stopped at a red traffic signal in the turn lane on northbound Minnieville Rd where the driver was waiting to turn left on Smoketown Rd. The driver of the Toyota was extricated from the vehicle by fire & rescue personnel and transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash. The drivers of the Mercedes and Honda, along with a passenger in the Toyota were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police. Speed does appear to be a factor in the collision. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.

• Armed Robbery *ARREST – On April 19, 2022 the suspect sought in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Walmart located at 14000 Worth Ave. in Woodbridge (22192) on April 17, was arrested. The accused, identified as Aaron Lee RICHARDSON, was located in the Woodbridge area and taken into custody without incident.

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On April 17 at 6:17PM, officers responded to the Walmart located at 14000 Worth Ave. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. An employee of the store reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, requested to see a ring from the jewelry counter. While the accused was holding the ring, he implied he had a firearm before running out of the store with the unpaid merchandise. The accused fled the area in a vehicle, which was later located by officers in the Woodbridge area. While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused as Aaron Lee RICHARDSON, and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Strong-Arm Robbery *ARRESTS – On Sunday, April 17, 2022 Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 18000 block of Olde Port Ln. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a domestic. While investigating, officers identified the involved parties to be the suspects sought in connection with the robbery reported to have occurred in the 3800 block of Graham Park Rd in Dumfries (22026) on April 15. Both suspects, identified as Michael Phillip LEWIS and Hope Staresha JOHNSON, were taken into custody without incident. The investigation into the domestic revealed the incident was verbal only.

Strong-Arm Robbery [Previously Released] – On April 15, 2022 at 12:19AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3800 block of Graham Park Rd in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 51-year-old man, was assaulted by two acquaintances who then took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and fled. The victim reported minor injuries. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the two suspects, identified as Michael Phillip LEWIS and Hope Staresha JOHNSON. Attempts to locate the suspects have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.

• Indecent Exposure *ARREST – On April 19, 2022 the suspect sought in connection to the indecent exposure that was reported to have occurred at Zainie Threading Design Beauty Salon located at 14810 Build America Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) on April 15, was arrested. The accused, Rodney Kayne BYRNE, was located in the Woodbridge area and taken into custody without incident.

Indecent Exposure [Previously Released] – On April 15 at 1:17PM, officers responded to Zainie Threading Design Beauty Salon located at 14810 Build America Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an indecent exposure. Employees of the salon reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, entered the salon, and exposed himself to the employees. The employees ran out of the business and contacted the police. The accused exited the business and fled the area on foot. While investigating, officers identified the accused as Rodney Kayne BYRNE, and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Indecent Exposure –
On April 18, 2022 at 5:30AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the WAWA located at 2051 Daniel Stuart Sq. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an indecent exposure. An employee of the business reported to police that while in the parking lot, an unknown man got out of a vehicle without clothes on and exposed himself. The suspect then got dressed before he entered the store. While inside the store, the suspect concealed multiple food items inside his clothing before the employee confronted the suspect. The suspect quickly left the business with the unpaid items and fled in a 2000 silver Toyota sedan with Virginia license plates: UKE 9715, being driven by an unknown woman. No injuries were reported. Food items were reported missing.

A white male, approximately 6’00”, 150lbs, between 35-45 years of age, with short black hair, and a goatee with mustache

Arrests
• Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related –
On April 19 at 3:45AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7600 block of Mangione Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic-in-progress. Upon arriving at the residence, officers located the victim, a 22-year-old woman, who was suffering from a laceration to her head. Rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening. The investigation revealed that the victim and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused headbutted the victim before grabbing her throat. The parties temporarily separated. When the victim retrieved her phone, the accused grabbed the phone–preventing her from contacting the police. The parties eventually separated, and the accused fled the residence prior to police arriving in the area. While canvassing the area, officers located the accused, identified as Eugene Curtis ELLIS, where he was arrested without incident.

• Sexual Assault Investigation – On April 14, 2022 at 8:58AM, officers responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at the Reconciliation Community Church located at 14654 Joplin Rd. in Manassas (20112) between March 8 and 10. The investigation revealed that the church’s pastor, identified as the accused, invited the victim, a 20-year-old woman, into his office for one-on-one counseling sessions. On two separate counseling sessions during the above timeframe, the accused inappropriately touched the victim. The victim eventually reported the incidents to a family member who contacted the police, prompting the investigation. On April 15, 2022 following the investigation, the accused, identified as John Roger PEYTON, was arrested. Anyone with information to report regarding this investigation is asked to contact police.
