• Felony Child Abuse | Domestic Related *ARREST – On Tuesday, March 22, 2022 the suspect sought in connection to the assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 10800 block of Monocacy Way in Manassas (20112) on March 6, was arrested. The accused, identified as Jeffrey Alexander ESCOBAR, was taken into custody without incident.

Felony Child Abuse | Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 3:20AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 10800 block of Monocacy Way in Manassas (20112) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 30-year-old woman, reported to police that she and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times. The two parties separated before the accused took their infant girl into another room. While holding the infant, the accused struck the adult victim several more times before he fell and landed on top of the infant girl. Rescue personnel responded and transported the infant to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accused fled prior to the police arriving at the residence. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Jeffrey Alexander ESCOBAR. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Strangulation | Domestic Related – On Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 2:47AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a domestic that was reported to have occurred at the Windsor Park Apartments located in the 3900 block of Penhurst Ln. in Woodbridge (22192) during the early morning hours of March 1. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 21-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the altercation, the accused pushed the victim onto a couch and grabbed her neck. Eventually, the parties separated, and the accused left the residence. The victim reported sustaining injuries during the incident. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Hunter Stephen VERUCCHI. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On March 23, 2022 at 9:15PM, officers responded to the Ashdale Plaza shopping center located in the 2900 block of Dale Blvd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. The victim, a 51-year-old man, reported to police that inside he and an acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation at one of the businesses. The acquaintance was accompanied by two unknown men. Eventually the parties separated before the acquaintance and the two other men got into a white sedan. As the vehicle left the parking lot, someone from the sedan fired gunshots. No injuries or property damage were reported. While canvassing, officers located shell casings in the parking lot. The investigation continues.
• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 5:57PM, officers responded to the area of Rippon Blvd. and Blackburn Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that a group of males, possibly juveniles, were at the basketball courts near the above intersection when they were approached by a group of masked individuals, also believed to be juveniles. During the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated when individuals of the masked group implied they were carrying firearms. As the initial group left on foot, they heard multiple gunshots. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. No injuries or property damage were reported.
• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On March 19, 2022 at 11:48PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Vantage Dr.
and Elizabeth Burbage Lp. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that multiple shots were fired before a group of individuals were observed fleeing the area and a black Chevy Camaro was seen driving out of the area. No injuries or property damage were reported. While canvassing, officers located shell casings in the above area.
• Brandishing of Weapon – On March 19, 2022 at 1:34PM, officers responded to the 13500 block of Cridercrest Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a brandishing. The victim, a 42-year-old man, reported to police that while in the parking lot of the above area, he and the driver of another vehicle, later identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation. During the altercation, the accused retrieved a machete from his vehicle and brandished it while making threats towards the victim. The parties separated and the victim contacted the police. Prior to police arriving in the area, the accused made additional verbal threats towards the victim before leaving in his vehicle. There was no physical interaction between the victim and the accused during the encounter. While investigating, officers identified the accused as Darryl Thomas WELDON, and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 4:19AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16400 block of Boatswain Cl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. A resident of the home reported to police that a loud noise was heard at approximately 1:30AM. The investigation revealed that entry was attempted into the home through the front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.
• Attempted Residential Burglary – On March 18, 2022 at 9:06AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5500 block of Hope Hill Ave. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed that entry was attempted into the home through the rear basement window sometime between 11:00PM on March 16 and 6:00AM on March 18. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

• Abduction | Child Neglect – On March 21 at 7:36PM, officers responded to the Econo Lodge located at 17005 Dumfries Rd. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an abduction. Upon arriving at the hotel, officers could hear the victim, later identified as a 29-year-old woman, yelling from inside one of the rooms. Initial attempts by officers to gain entry into the room were unsuccessful, and eventually officers forced entry into the room. Once inside the room, officers detained a man, identified as the accused, and located the victim who was holding their infant son. The investigation revealed that a verbal altercation between the victim and the accused escalated when the accused grabbed the victim’s hair and struck her while she was holding the infant. The accused then took the victim’s phone before physically prevented her and the baby from leaving the room. The victim declined medical treatment and the infant was unharmed. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Austin Jared HANEY, was arrested.

• Armed Robbery – On March 11, 2022 at 2:55PM, officers Prince William County Police responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to
have occurred at the Porter Traditional School located at 15311 Forest Grove Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) on the evening of March 10. The investigation revealed that sometime between 5:00PM and 6:00PM the victim, a 12-year-old boy, was at the outdoor basketball courts on the school’s property when he was approached by an unknown male juvenile, later identified as the accused. During the encounter, the accused took the victim’s jacket. The accused then brandished a knife when the victim attempted to retrieve the jacket. The accused fled the area on his bicycle. No injuries were reported. The incident was reported to the school the following morning who notified the police prompting the investigation. While investigating, officers identified the accused as a 13-year-old boy and on March 21, the accused was arrested.

• Strong-Arm Robbery – On Friday, March 18, 2022 at 4:59AM, officers responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 30-yearold man, reported to police that while in the parking lot of the above area, he was approached by an acquaintance, later identified as the accused. The accused immediately grabbed the victim and pushed him to the ground before striking him multiple times. The accused then took the victim’s property before fleeing on foot. The victim walked to a nearby business where he encountered the police. The victim reported non-life threatening injuries. During the investigation, officers located the accused near the above location and took
him into custody without incident. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Anthony Tyrone LANGHORNE, was arrested.

• Human Trafficking Investigation – On March 21, 2022, detectives with the Prince William County Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau concluded an investigation into human trafficking that was reported to have occurred at two separate locations, the Red Roof Inn located at 17113 Dumfries Rd. in Dumfries and the Oak Hill General Store located at 12203 Kahns Rd. in Manassas (20112) that evening. The investigation revealed that the accused drove the victim, identified as a 20-year-old female acquaintance, to both locations where the victim engaged in sexual acts with a different man at each location in exchange for money.
Detectives located the victim and the accused at the Oak Hill General Store and detained them without incident. Further investigation revealed that the victim recently traveled to Prince William County to meet the accused who provided transportation and received a portion of money that the victim obtained for the arranged encounters. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Bartolo CANO HINOJOZA, was arrested.
