Police investigate threat against school by 13-year-old on Feb. 2, 2022

Arrests
• School Threat Investigation – On February 2 at 10:49PM, officers responded to investigate a potential threat of violence made towards Rippon Middle School located at 15101 Blackburn Rd. in Woodbridge (22191), earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that an unknown individual, later identified as the accused, posted threats of potential violence towards the school on a social media platform. Several students who received the messages immediately informed family members who contacted the police. On February 3, School Resource Officers (SRO) identified the sender of the messages as a 13-year-old female juvenile and determined the threat to the school was not credible. Following the investigation, SRO’s charged the juvenile, and the case will be handled through juvenile court services.

• Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On February 3 at 2:55AM, officers responded to the Orchard Mills Apartments located in the 3300 block of Bronson Ct. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an occupant of an apartment who was destroying property. Upon arriving at the apartment, officers observed the occupant, later identified as the accused, and attempted to detain her. During the encounter, the accused actively
resisted and kicked an officer before being taken into custody. No injuries were reported by the officer and minor injuries were reported by the accused. The accused was transported to an area hospital for treatment and further evaluation before being released to police custody. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Samantha OCHOA, was arrested.

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On February 4 at 12:50AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4200 block of Granby Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arriving in the area, officers detained two men outside of the home who matched the description provided to police. The investigation revealed that two men, who were known to one another, were involved in a verbal altercation. As the two parties separated, the accused retrieved a firearm and fired a round into the air. No injuries or property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Demian Marcel PETERS, was arrested. The other man involved in the incident was also taken into custody for public intoxication.
