Prince William County's newest supervisor, Victor S. Angry, was sworn in April 11 to fill the Neabsco District seat on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. Angry takes over the seat left vacant at the death of John D. Jenkins, who served on the board for 36 years before his death in February.

Today, April 10, the U.S. Senate unanimously approved a resolution introduced by U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-VA) officially congratulating the University of Virginia men’s basketball team for winning the 2019 NCAA championship.
Pursuant to the Prince William Board of County Supervisors’ Rules of Procedure, Chairman Stewart directed the Clerk to the Board of County Supervisors to call a special meeting Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The Special Meeting will be held in the Board Chambers located at 1 County Complex Court, Prince William, Virginia, 22192.
Due to an overwhelming response to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Beehive Distribution Program, the program has been suspended. VDACS anticipates that the current volume of applications will utilize all funding allocated for the program.

1919 was a historic year when it came to ensuring women’s right to vote. On May 21, 1919, the House of Representatives passed what would become the 19th amendment, and two weeks later, the Senate followed sending the proposed amendment to the states for ratification. In just over a year’s time, three-fourths of the states ratified the amendment and the Secretary of State certified the ratification, forever ensuring women would have the right to vote.
