In the wake of Hurricane Helene, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) says it stands ready to investigate complaints about the gasoline and motor vehicle fuels portion of the Anti-Gouging Act in Virginia.

“We’ve immediately started the initial damage assessment process necessary to request a federal disaster relief declaration and I will immediately make that request once this work is completed."
The Prince William County Fire and Rescue Swift Water Rescue Team continues to assist victims of the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in Southwest Virginia near the North Carolina border.

The investigation revealed on two separate occasions that the accused, who was a sworn law enforcement officer with the Prince William County Police Department at the time, had inappropriate contact while on duty with an adult woman. Both parties were known to one another.
The Defense Health Agency announced that TRICARE beneficiaries in Virginia may receive emergency prescription refills now through Oct. 5, 2024, due to Hurricane Helene. All counties are impacted.
