The leading cause of Halloween-related injuries is falls in which children are four times as likely to fall, on Halloween, than on any other night of the year. In addition to injuries, Halloween-related deaths occur among children as well due to the lack of adult supervision.

This morning, Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022 at 5:19 AM fire and rescue units were dispatched to the 12000 block of Hatchway Ct. (Lake Ridge) for a reported single-family dwelling fire, according to Matt Smolsky, deputy chief of Prince William Fire & Rescue.

To replace Battlefield High School Band music instruments and help offset the costs of participating in regional competitions, there will be a charity car show at the high school in Haymarket Nov. 5 from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m.
As some of you are aware, the Virginia State Board of Elections recently sent incorrect voting information to residents in a number of towns in Northern Virginia, including Occoquan. The local Prince William County Office of Elections is in the process of sending out corrected information.

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that civil rights have been restored to more than 800 Virginians. Rights were restored for approved individuals last week in order to ensure those who are interested in voting in the November 8th election could register to do so before Monday's registration deadline.

On Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022 at 9:05 PM Prince William Fire & Rescue units were dispatched to the 10200 block of Balls Ford Road (Manassas) for a reported single-family dwelling fire. Crews arrived to find a working basement fire with all occupants out of the home, according to Matt Smolsky, Deputy Fire Chief.
