Classes are still in session at Dale City Elementary School despite a water main break in a part of Dale City VA. School officials have made emergency arrangements for restroom facilities, hand sanitizing and lunch. Prince William County's Jason Grant, director of communications, estimated the water main would be repaired in 6-8 hours.
Prince William County VA Supervisor Marty Nohe will hold his first Community Pride Day in the Yorkshire/Loch Lomond area on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Joseph D. Reading Park. The area, historically in Brentsville or Gainesville District, was moved into Coles District boundaries during the redistricting. Munch a hot dog, get some info, let the kids try the moon bounce, drop off bulky items, meet neighbors and Supervisor Nohe.

Prince William County VA police department's crime report for Thursday, Sept. 6 includes arrest of a Woodbridge man for sexual battery on a teenage girl who attempted to apply for a job in Lake Ridge, an arrest involving indecent liberties with a child and two arrests in a case of attempting to pass fraudulent prescriptions at a Hoadly Road drug store.

The new Telegraph Road Park and Ride Facility in Woodbridge VA opened today with 553 parking spaces, including 23 designated for handicapped, and a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Prince William Board of County Supervisors and Sean T. Connaughton, Virginia Secretary of Transportation. The facility is being used for a two-year comparison test of LED fixtures from five manufacturers with standard lighting products.

The public can prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs at National Take Back Day Sept. 29. Representatives of Manassas VA city police department, Prince William County police department and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Heathcote Health Center in Haymarket and Sentara Lake Ridge in Woodbridge to accept anonymous dropoffs 10 .m. to 2 p.m.
