Weather permitting, the Route 28 (Sully Road/Centreville Road) and Route 29 interchange ramps will have nighttime closures Wednesday night, July 31; Thursday night, Aug. 1 and Sunday night, Aug. 4 through Thursday night, Aug. 8 between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. each night for paving, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

After much discussion and review, the Stafford County Board of Supervisors has amended its By-laws to provide for a new Board meeting schedule, according to a news release. Now, the Board’s schedule will typically include three meeting days a month with two planned business days on the first (A Day) and third (B Day) Tuesday of each month.

Prince William County Police officers were in the 14900 block of Ashdale Cir in Woodbridge on an unrelated call July 23, 2024 when they located the vehicle sought in connection to the fatal hit & run that occurred in the 16400 block of Stedham Cl. in Dumfries (22025) on July 20.

Motorists needing to reach properties along Glenkirk Road will have access; however, access to Glenkirk Road will be via Hamill Run Drive and points northward. Through traffic will be detoured via Vint Hill Road, Rollins Ford Road and Hamill Run Drive back to Glenkirk Road. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signs.

OmniRide’s next Service Change will take effect on Monday, July 29. Schedules for Express, Metro Express, and Local routes will change on that date. OmniRide Express base fare will increase to $11 from $9 each way. The reduced fare will be $5.50. The Monthly Unlimited Pass will increase from $265 to $285.
