Gainesville District Supervisor John T. Stirrup will hold his final Gainesville District Quarterly Town Hall Meeting on Monday, Dec. 5 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Battlefield High School, 15000 Graduation Drive in Haymarket. The topic of this meeting is Meet Your Representatives.
After redistricting and the recent election, there are some new representatives for Gainesville residents, as well as, some familiar faces. Supervisor Stirrup has invited elected officials who represent the Gainesville District to speak and participate in a question and answer session. Scheduled to attend are: State Senator-elect Dick Black (13th Senate District); State Delegate Bob Marshall (13th House District); State Delegate Tim Hugo (40th House District); Prince William County School Board Chairman Milt Johns; Gainesville District Supervisor-elect Peter Candland and Gainesville District School Board Representative-elect Alyson Satterwhite.
During his eight years in office, Supervisor Stirrup has held quarterly Town Hall Meetings to provide an opportunity for Gainesville District residents to obtain updated information and to respond to questions they may have. Since Supervisor Stirrup did not run for re-election, this meeting will be his 34th and final Town Hall Meeting.
In preparation for Monday’s farewell meeting, Supervisor Stirrup was quoted as saying, “I would like to thank the Gainesville Residents for their attendance and participation; it has truly been an honor for me to represent you.”
