False report of Nov. 9 shooting at Woodbridge Senior High School

False Report of School Shooting – On Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021 at 11:42AM, the Prince William County Public Safety Communications Center received a call from an individual reporting a shooting-in-progress at Woodbridge High School, located at 3001 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge.

The School Resource Officer (SRO) was present at the school at the time of the call and immediately took action to investigate the alleged incident. Additional SROs and patrol officers arrived at the school within minutes and secured the building. Fire & Rescue personnel also responded and staged nearby in the event injuries were found while other schools in the immediate area were placed in a secured status as a precaution.

Officers conducted a methodical search of the Woodbridge High School grounds which resulted in no evidence of a shooting being found and no injuries reported. After completing the search of the grounds, the call was determined to be unfounded, according to First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, public information officer.

The school resumed operations as police began to demobilize from the area. Officers planned to remain at the school through dismissal for security purposes.
