Man charged with rape of family member in the 2011-2017 timeframe

Rape – On Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 detectives with the Special Victims Unit of the Prince William County Police Department in conjunction with Child Protective Services (CPS), concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Woodbridge (22191) area of Prince William County between Jan, 1, 2011 and April 30, 2017, according to a report filed by MPO Renee Carr, public information officer for the police department.

MPO Carr said the investigation revealed that the victim, who was between 4-10 years old during the time of the offenses, was sexually assaulted by a family member, identified as the accused, on more than one occasion during the above timeframe. The incidents were reported to CPS in January 2021 which then notified the police prompting the investigation. On Oct. 28, following the investigation, the accused, identified as Aariq Michael Austin NEDD, was arrested.
