Two charged with malicious wondering in separate incidents Aug. 15 in Woodbridge

Malicious Wounding – On August 15 at 6:04AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 2100 block of Opitz Blvd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault.

The investigation revealed that while in the parking lot of the above location, the victim, a 23-year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim with a tire iron. Additional acquaintances intervened and the parties separated. The accused initially ran from the site and then returned when officers arrived at the parking lot, reported MPO Renee Carr, the police department’s public information officer. Minor injuries were reported by the victim. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Wilson BAUTISTA CERRANO, was arrested.

Malicious Wounding – On August 15 at 6:39PM, officers responded to the County Center Crossing Apartments located in the 7000 block of Lakota Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, reported to police that a verbal altercation escalated when an acquaintance, identified as the accused, attempted to strike the victim with a glass bottle. During the encounter, the accused struck and kicked the victim before the parties briefly separated. The accused then retrieved a pair of scissors and stabbed the victim.

Upon arrival officers separated the parties and detained the accused without further incident. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Zanai Nahtae TORNEY, was arrested.
