Suspect charged with strangulation, abduction, domestic assault & battery and more

Strangulation | Abduction | Domestic Related – On Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021 at 11:55PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 12000 block of Honey Grove Trl in Nokesville (20191) to investigate a domestic.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 40-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused repeatedly struck the victim before physically preventing her from leaving a room inside the home. At one point, the accused threw the victim onto a bed before grabbing her neck and continuing the assault. When the victim attempted to call 9-1-1, the accused took her phone and broke it preventing her from doing so. The parties eventually separated, and the accused fled the area.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Jose Duque RIVERA BORJA. The accused was subsequently arrested without incident on August 4.
