Aggravated Assault | Brandishing of a Firearm – On Sunday, July 25 at 8:20AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate an assault that was reported to have occurred in the area of Adler Ln. near Aaron Ln. in Manassas (20109) at approximately 9:00PM on July 24.
The investigation revealed that two groups were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated while at the basketball courts. During the encounter, a male suspect,
believed to be a juvenile, produced a knife, and attempted to stab someone from the other group, identified as a 14-yearold male juvenile, causing a minor graze injury.
Three men and one woman then joined the suspect and began to assault the victim and the other acquaintances. At one point, one of the suspects brandished a firearm. The victim immediately began to run away. The suspects quickly fled the area when the police were contacted.
The victim reported the incident to a family member, who eventually contacted the police. No shots were fired during the incident. The victim reported minor injuries sustained during the incident. The investigation continues.
