PWC Police charge suspect with strangulation and domestic assault & battery

Strangulation | Domestic Assault and Battery – On July 20 at 1:33AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Bixby Ln. and Bowes Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an
assault. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim and grabbed her throat, according to a report from Master Police Officer Renee Carr, police department information opfficer.

Another acquaintance intervened and separated the parties before the victim left the area. The victim contacted the police and reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified
as Shawn Jerard WATTS, was arrested.
