Victim lands in hospital after verbal altercation, assault and abduction

Abduction | Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 7:49PM, officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to the 14200 block of Smoketown Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 44-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation while at a nearby business. The altercation escalated when the accused struck the victim several times. At one point, the accused brandished a firearm and prevented the victim from getting out of the vehicle.

The accused then drove out of the parking lot and struck the victim with the firearm several times as they were driving. While in the area of Gideon Dr. and Dale Blvd., the accused struck an occupied vehicle before continuing on Gideon Dr. and then traveling south on I-95. Later that evening, officers were notified that the victim was located in Spotsylvania County and transported
to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as William Randolph GILLIAM Jr. On July 19, the accused was located in the Chesterfield area and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

William Randolph GILLIAM Jr., 45, of the 15000 block of Leichestershire St. in Woodbridge
Charged with abduction, malicious wounding, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, felony hit & run, and domestic assault & battery
