Attempted Malicious Wounding of a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO]—On Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 7:47PM, while in the area of River Ridge Blvd. and Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) officers observed a silver 2006 Volvo S60 driving in circles in the intersection and attempted a vehicle stop.
When the operator of the Volvo refused to stop the vehicle, officers positioned their police vehicle, with activated emergency equipment, in the intersection. A short time later, the operator of the Volvo struck the police vehicle.
According to MPO Renee Carr, public information officer for Prince William County Police Department, the operator of the vehicle, identified as the accused, was detained. While investigating, officers determined the accused was driving on a suspended license and was under the influence of alcohol. An officer was in the cruiser at the time of the collision and reported minor injuries. A Pitbull was found in the Volvo and was unharmed.
The accused was transported to an area hospital for further processing and evaluation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as, Rodney Keith CREWS, was arrested.
