Shooting Investigation – On May 7 at 3:22PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 3500 block of Forestdale Ave. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old man lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.
A good Samaritan provided first aid until officers took over.The man was eventually flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Officers located a shell casing in the roadway. Detectives with the Prince William County Police Department’s Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting.
MPO Renee Carr, public information officer, said, “This incident does not appear to be random. Detectives continue to seek assistance from any witness to the incident.
Aggravated Assault – On May 6 at 6:27PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the intersection of University Blvd. and Robertson Dr. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault.
The victim, a 52-year-old woman, reported to police that while walking in the above area, she was approached by a male passenger who exited from a maroon-colored SUV that stopped nearby. During the encounter, the suspect brandished an electroshock weapon and shocked the victim before getting back into the vehicle and fleeing the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Suspect Description:
MPO Renee Carr, public information officer for the police department, described the suspect as “a black male, unknown age, approximately 5’9”, with a medium build, short black hair and a mustache, and wearing a white t-shirt.”
