Family member arrested and held without bond after alleged attempt to stab victim with screwdriver

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On May 3 at 8:40PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 14800 block of Downey Ct. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 19-year-old man, reported to police that he and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

According to the police report filed by Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer, during the encounter, the accused attempted to strike the victim with a screwdriver. The victim was able to avoid being struck and contacted the police. The victim did not report any injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Awa RAHMAN, was arrested.

Incidents
Aggravated Assault – On Monday, May 3, at 4:27AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 15100 block of Georgia Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. Upon arrival, officers located a 41-year-old man, with significant facial injuries. The man was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to the police report from Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer, the investigation revealed that the man was assaulted by a black male when he attempted to intervene in an altercation between two unknown people. The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On Monday, May 3, at 9:57PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Point at Manassas Apartments located in the 11100 block of Beamer Way in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary.

A resident of an apartment reported to police that sometime between 7:30PM and 8:15PM, entry was attempted through the rear door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the home, and no property was reported missing, according to Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer,
