PWC Police make 4th arrest in April 2 murder at Manassas Mall

Murder Investigation *ADDITIONAL ARREST – On April 29, the remaining suspect sought in connection to the fatal shooting that occurred outside of the Manassas Mall located on Sudley Rd in the Manassas area of Prince William County on April 2, was arrested, according to a report from First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department. The suspect, Christian Starr HAYNES, turned himself into police without incident, Perok said.

Two juveniles and a 23-year-old man were previously arrested in connection to the incident. The investigation continues.

Murder Investigation *ARRESTS | WANTED SUSPECT [Previously Released] – On April 20, homicide detectives identified the suspects sought in connection to the fatal shooting that occurred on April 2 outside of the Manassas Mall located on Sudley Rd in the Manassas area of Prince William County. Following a press conference held to solicit public assistance, information was received which ultimately led detectives to the suspect’s identities. The investigation revealed that the deceased victim, identified as Jahmar Latravern GRAVES, a 22-year-old man, and a third man were inside the mall when an altercation ensued with another group. The parties initially separated before re-encountering one another in the parking lot where shots were fired, and the two victims were struck. Detectives determined the victims were not known to the other parties. Following the investigation, detectives located and charged two of the suspects, both identified as juveniles, and obtained arrest warrants for two adult suspects, identified as Aliquan Gary GILL and Christian Starr HAYNES. The GILL suspect turned himself into police on April 21, while HAYNES remains wanted. A fifth individual sought by police has been identified; however, no charges have been placed at this time.

Homicide Investigation *REWARD [Previously Released] – The Prince William County Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects involved in the shooting that occurred outside of the Manassas Mall located on Sudley Rd in the Manassas area of Prince William County on April 2. Through a partnership in public safety with the FBI, the Northern Virginia Safe Streets/HIDTA Task Force is offering an additional $5,000 reward to assist in the investigation. During the incident, a 34-year-old man from Baltimore, MD was killed, and another 22-year-old man was injured. Video surveillance of the incident was previously made publicly available in effort to identify those responsible.

Homicide Investigation *ASSISTANCE REQUESTED [Previously Released] – Homicide detectives are asking for the community’s help identifying the suspects involved in the shooting that occurred outside the Manassas Mall located on Sudley Rd in the Manassas area of Prince William County on April 2. During the incident, a 34-year-old man from Baltimore, MD was killed, and another 22-year-old man was injured. Video surveillance of the incident is being made publicly available in this effort to identify those responsible.

Homicide Investigation [Previously Released] – On April 2 at 11:16PM, officers responded to the parking lot of the Manassas Mall located at 8300 Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided immediate first aid to the men until rescue personnel arrived. One of the men was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The other man, identified as a 22-year-old, was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries where he is expected to survive. The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred in the parking lot. During the encounter, shots were fired and the two men were struck. Parties dispersed prior to police arriving at the location. Detectives with the Homicide Unit are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting and are seeking to speak with anyone who was present during the altercation who can provide more details as to what occurred. No arrest has been made in this incident. More information will be released when available. The investigation continues.
