Police charge runner with assaulting women out for walks in Bristow neighborhood

Assault and Battery – On April 21 at 1:40PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Tartan Hills Pkwy and Correen Hills Dr. in Bristow (20136) to investigate an assault, according to Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer for the police department.

The victim, a 55-year-old woman, reported to police that while walking in the above area, an unknown man approached her from the opposite direction. When the victim turned, facing away
from the sidewalk to tend to her dog, the man assaulted the victim and made a brief comment before continuing to run on the sidewalk.

The victim contacted the police upon completing her walk. While investigating, officers were notified of a second assault in the above area that was reported to have occurred on April 17. The second investigation revealed that a man approached a 62-year-old woman who was out walking and assaulted her in a similar way as the previous assault.

Following the investigation, officers identified the man as Kevin Trayvone MARTIN and charged him.
