Shoes gone but no money in hand; police arrest two suspects and locate shoes

Strong-Arm Robbery – On Thursday, Jan. 7 at 3:15PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the 1400 block of Florida Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, an 18-year-old man, reported to police that he arranged to sell shoes to an acquaintance in the above area.

During the encounter, the acquaintance and an unknown male juvenile approached the victim and initially attempted to take the shoes without paying for them. When the victim attempted to retrieve the shoes, both the suspect and the acquaintance struck and kicked the victim. Eventually, the parties separated, and both suspects fled on foot with the shoes.

The victim drove a short distance away and contacted the police. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers located both juveniles inside a nearby residence and took them into custody without incident. The shoes were also located inside the residence. Following the investigation, on Jan. 10, detectives obtained petitions for the suspects, both identified as 16-year-old male juveniles. The case will be handled by juvenile court services.
