Manassas City Police investigate two incidents involving guns

7-11 Robbery
On Jan. 7, 2021 at 12:29 a.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 7-11 located at 9100 Mathis Ave. for a report of a robbery. The victim stated that an unknown male entered the store carrying a knife and demanded that the victim open the cash register. The suspect received an unknown amount of money and fled the scene on foot prior to officer arrival. The investigation is currently ongoing. 

Coffee Fraud
On Jan.4, 2021 at 12:30 p.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the Starbucks located at 9642 Liberia Ave (near Aldi) for a report of fraud. The manager of the business advised officers that an unknown male purchased several gift cards with the Starbucks App using an unknown party’s information. Investigation revealed that the subject went to several other Starbucks locations in the area to purchase gift cards. The investigation in ongoing.

Brandishing a firearm
On Jan.7, 2021 at 7:28 p.m. officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the intersection of Dumfries Rd. and Hastings Dr. for a report of a brandishing. The victim advised that while driving down Hendley Rd, he observed the suspect tailgating his vehicle. The victim pulled into a nearby business and was followed by the suspect vehicle. The victim stated that when he stopped his car, the suspect pulled up next to him and pointed a firearm at him. The victim advised that the suspect fled the area before police were called. The investigation is ongoing.

Bullet holes in an occupied dwelling
On Jan.7, 2021 at 2:22 p.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 10100 block of Caladium Dr. for a report of shots fired. Police Communications received several calls stating that multiple gun shots were heard in the area. Investigating officers discovered shell casings and bullet holes in a nearby dwelling.

No injuries were reported or observed by officers. According to the police, this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is currently no threat to the community.  The investigation is ongoing.
