Man shot in leg in Irongate Sunday morning; man and son roughed up while out for a walk after dark

Sunday morning Shooting Investigation – On Sunday, Oct. 18 at 11:15AM, officers responded to the 8100 block of Community Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The investigation revealed that the man was in the above area when he encountered two other men. During the encounter, the shooting occurred. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries where he became uncooperative with investigators. A police K-9 searched the area for the men who were not located. This incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Suspect Descriptions:
Black male, 20-25 years of age with face tattoos
Hispanic, or light skinned male

Aggravated Assault while walking – On Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8:33PM, officers responded to the 8300 block of Sudley Rd in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 40-year-old man, and his 18-year-old son were walking in the above area when they encountered two unknown men. During the encounter, the men struck the victim, knocking him to the ground.

The victim’s son and other witnesses were able to intervene and separate the parties before the suspects fled on foot. The men were possibly armed with a knife and brass knuckles. The victim sustained a laceration to his face and was treated at the scene. Officers searched the area for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.

Suspect Descriptions:
1. Hispanic male, between 17-22 years of age, 5’4”-5’8”, 150-180lbs with medium build, olive complexion, medium length brown hair, brown eyes, and an unshaven face
Last seen wearing black hooded jacket, blue jeans, black Hurley har, and black & white shoes
