Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 12:21PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14500 block of Leary St. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a domestic with weapons.
The victim, a 35-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused brandished a knife and then a firearm towards the victim. At some point during the altercation, the accused kicked the victim before firing a round into the home.
Eventually, the parties separated, and the victim fled to a neighboring residence where police were contacted.
Prior to police arriving at the home, the accused fired an additional round inside the home. There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire.
While investigating, officers learned there were additional occupants inside the home with the accused at the time of the incident. Members of the Crisis Negotiation Team responded and were able to have all of the occupants safely leave the home.
The accused was taken into custody without incident. Minor injuries were reported by the victim as a result of the altercation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Brian Erwin ROWELL, was arrested.
