Suspect held without bond in Woodbridge abduction and firearms case

MPO Renee Carr, public information officer for the Prince William County Police Department, reported this arrest:

Abduction – On August 15 at 10:46PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1600 block of Lynn St. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a disturbance. The victim, a 20-year-old man, reported to police that he and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

During the encounter, the accused brandished a firearm and prevented the victim from leaving the residence. The victim was eventually able to separate from the accused and contacted the police. Responding officers located the accused in his vehicle and detained him without incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as William Blair POWELL, was arrested.

Charged with abduction, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and carrying a concealed weapon
Court Date: November 12, 2020 | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond
