Man shot and injured in Woodbridge; police have no suspect or description
MPO Renee Carr, public information officer for the Prince William County Police Depatment, filed this report on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020:
Shooting Investigation – On August 15 at 9:56PM, officers responded to the Meridian Bay Apartments located in the 2900 block of Foxlair Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call.
Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area.
Upon arrival, officers located a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot injury. The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers were able to locate an area outside of the apartment complex where the incident was believed to have taken place. The incident appears to have stemmed from a verbal altercation that escalated when a shot was fired. This incident does not appear to be random. police said.
No additional injuries or property damage were reported. There is no suspect description at this time.
