MPO Renee Carr, public information officer for the Prince William County Police Department, filed thids report on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020:
Commercial Burglary – On August 7 at 10:25AM, officers responded to the CubeSmart Self Storage located at 8621 Sunnygate Dr. in Manassas (20109) to investigate multiple burglaries to storage units at that location. The business manager reported to police that the burglaries occurred sometime between 10:00PM on August 6 and 6:00AM on August 7. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the gated area through the exterior fence which was found damaged. While investigating, officers determined that over 100 units were forcefully entered. At this time, it is unknown if any property is missing. The investigation continues.
Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery – On August 9 at 2:31AM, officers responded to the 13500 block of Minnieville Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 46-year-old man, reported to police that he was in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the suspects attempted to take the victim’s phone. The victim was able to secure his phone before the suspects threw an unknown liquid on the victim and fled on foot. The victim left the area and eventually contacted the police. The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The only suspect description is two black males with red masks and all black clothing.
Commercial Burglary – On August 10 at 2:03AM, officers responded to the Tema African and Caribbean Market located at 17455 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an alarm activation. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through the front glass door that was damaged with a brick that was located inside the restaurant. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On August 6 at 5:12PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11700 block of Barrows Ln. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. A resident reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 12:00AM on July 15 and 4:41PM on August 6. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Jewelry, clothing, gaming systems, a television and home goods were reported missing.
