One dead after two men found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in Manassas

On July 30, 2020, at 10:12 p.m., officers from the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 8600-block of Bruton Parish Ct to investigate a shooting that had just occurred, according to Sgt. A.G. Barahona, police department representative.

Upon officers’ arrival, two adult male victims were located, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers utilized Department-issued trauma kits to render first aid to both victims until rescue personnel arrived at the scene. Both victims were transported to area hospitals.

One victim, not yet identified, later died as a result of his injuries. The other victim was treated for serious, non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive, according to the police report.

No arrests have been made at this time. According to Manassas City Police, this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community. Officers and detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting and are seeking to speak with anyone who was present during the shooting or can provide more details as to what occurred. More information will be released as it becomes available.
