Domestic disputes involve strangulations, according to PWC police reports

SPO Renee Carr, public information officer for the Prince William County Police Department, released these reports on Wednesday, July 29, 2020:

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On Monday, July 27, 2020 at 9:43PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 8800 block of Flatbush Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 65-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation before
the victim was struck by the accused. When another family member attempted to intervene, the accused grabbed his throat. At that point, a third family member
attempted to intervene and was struck by the accused.

Eventually all of the parties separated, and the police were contacted. The accused fled the residence prior to police arriving at the Flatbush Court residence. The victims reported minor injuries.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Clarence Eugene MAKELY. On the morning of Tuesday, July 28, the
accused was located and taken into custody without incident.

Strangulation | Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 12:14PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a domestic that was reported to have occurred at the Potomac Ridge Apartments located in the 2800 block of Woodmark Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) on July 12.

The victim, a 22-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the altercation, the victim left the apartment in an attempt to seek assistance when the accused grabbed her by the throat and pushed her to the ground. The accused then dragged the victim towards the apartment door before striking her multiple times. The victim sought treatment from a local hospital at the time of the incident. T

The victim recently reported the incident to police, prompting the investigation. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as, Rashaan Hassein-Hameed EDWARDS. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
