Hit & Run Crash Investigation [Previously Released] – On May 26 at 4:48PM, investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the intersection of Dumfries Rd. and Bristow Rd. in Manassas (20112) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the operator of a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche failed to stop at the red signal on Bristow Rd. before proceeding to turn right onto southbound Dumfries Rd. As a result, the vehicle crossed paths with a 2006 Acura MDX that was traveling on Dumfries Rd. in the same direction. The impact from the collision caused both vehicles to leave the roadway. After the crash, the driver of the Chevrolet, later identified as Maria Teresa Kathrina NININGER, fled the scene on foot prior to police arriving in the area. The driver and three passengers, all 17 years of age, who were inside the Acura were transported to area hospitals with varying non-life threatening injuries. An adult passenger inside the Chevrolet, identified as Michael Curtis OTT, was flown to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
