Power tools reported missing in break-in at Catharpin Rd. home

Residential Burglary – On Friday, May 22, 2020 at 4:20PM, officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to a residence located in the 5500 block of Catharpin Rd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary, according to First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department representative.

Perok said that the homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 6:00PM on May 17 and 6:30PM on May 21. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a rear window that was found damaged. Power tools were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On May 22 at 6:45PM, county police officers responded to a residence located in the 3400 block of Beale Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that sometime between 7:30AM and 3:00PM, entry was attempted into the residence through a basement level sliding glass door that was found damaged. No entry appeared to have been made into the home and no property was reported missing.
