Strong-Arm Robbery – On May 20 at 2:01PM, officers responded to the 1700 block of Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery.
The victim, a 38-year-old woman, reported to police that she arranged to sell a piece of jewelry to an unknown person, later identified as the accused, via the social media app “Let Go.”
While in the above area, the accused forcefully grabbed the jewelry from the victim and fled on foot. The victim contacted the police and responding officers observed the accused attempting to hide in the area of Old Bridge Rd. and Elysian Dr. When officers attempted to detain the accused, she fled on foot and refused to follow officer’s commands. After a short foot pursuit, the accused was detained without further incident.
During the investigation, the accused was found in possession of suspected marijuana and items consistent with distribution. The piece of jewelry was returned to the victim.
No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Aniyah Jamavea REDD, was arrested.
