Victims, the accused and police officers report injuries after family spat escalates

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May 11 at 3:10PM, Prince William County police officers responded to a residence located in the 8100 block of Mace Ct. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a domestic.

The investigation revealed that a female juvenile, identified as the accused, assaulted two other family members, a 13-year-old female juvenile and a 37-year-old woman, after a verbal altercation escalated, according to MPO Renee Carr, police department representative.

The accused then entered a bedroom where she refused to exit upon police arriving at the home. Eventually, family members were able to open the bedroom door for the officers. As officers attempted to detain the accused, she refused to cooperate and actively resisted by striking and kicking officers, Carr reported.

After a brief struggle, the accused was detained without further incident. The victims and officers reported minor injuries. The accused reported minor injuries from the original altercation. Following the investigation, officers obtained a detention order for the accused, identified as a 15-year-old female juvenile, Ofc. Carr said.
