Fatal Hit & Run Crash Investigation – On May 6, 2020 at 5 AM, investigators with the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Balls Ford Rd. and Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a pedestrian crash, according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department representative.
Perok said the preliminary investigation revealed that the operator of a silver colored sedan was turning west onto Balls Ford Rd. from Sudley Rd. when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing Sudley Rd not within a crosswalk. After the crash, the striking vehicle is believed to have fled westbound on Balls Ford Rd.
The pedestrian, identiified as a Bristow man, 62, was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The investigation continues.
