Young mother charged with child abuse, domestic abuse and biting a police officer

Felony Child Abuse | Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 12:05PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Stoney Ridge Apartments located in the 14300 block of Westminster Ln. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic assault.

According to MPO Renee Carr, PWC Police Department representative, the victim, a 46-year-old woman, reported to police that she arrived at the above address and located a family member, identified as the accused, under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for her 2-year-old daughter.

The two adults then engaged in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim. The parties separated and the police were contacted. Police officers located the accused inside the apartment and determined she was under the influence of alcohol and unable to communicate effectively, Carr reported.

The police report went on to say that when officers attempted to detain the accused, she actively resisted and refused to follow police commands. Officers secured the accused and, while escorting her to a marked police cruiser, she kicked and attempted to kick officers multiple times. After a brief struggle, the accused was secured and transported to the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center (ADC).

While the accused was being escorted into the ADC, she bit an officer on the arm. The accused was re-secured without further incident.

No injuries were reported by the child who was turned over to a family member. No injuries were reported by the victim. Minor injuries were reported by the officers. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Khadijah ROGERS, was arrested.
